For the fifth straight year Halifax’s top amateur musicians will take to the stage to do battle for the title of Halifax’s best corporate band at the Rock for Dimes fundraising event on October 29, 2010.
Seven bands are preparing to Battle at this Rock For Dimes event: The Trough (Raymond Yuill CA) will return to defend its big win last year. Loose Garage (Capital Health), Project 501 (Stewart McKelvey), Red C (McInnes Cooper), Terminal Road (Nova Scotia Department of Justice), Piranha Brothers (various lawyers) and Guns & Butter (Burchells LLP) are all back to compete for a great charitable cause.
To celebrate the 1980s, guests and band members are invited to wear their “sunglasses at night”, their big rocker hair, stirrup pants, Peter Pan boots, neon T-shirts, and rock those leg warmers! Come dressed to impress and enjoy an evening flash back to the Electric Eighties!
Rock for Dimes benefits Conductive Education® Nova Scotia, an innovative program that blends elements of education and rehabilitation to improve the mobility and self-confidence of children with neuro-motor disabilities.
