Rock for Dimes Edmonton Sept 22 2013

First Rock for Dimes Edmonton a success!

On Sunday, September 22, 2013, seven bands took to the stage at Pawn Shop Live and raised over $8,500 to support our local peer support groups in the Alberta area.

Josh Sahunta, A Hundred Years, The McGowan Family Band, Young Progression, BaslerFear of City and Death by Metal battled at the event in front of judges Brennan McFaul, Chris Schoengut and Dennis Ullman. Comedian Danny Martinello did an amazing job as the evening’s host. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart, the spokesperson of March of Dimes’ Stroke Recovery Canada® program made a special guest appearance.

In a very close contest, Josh Sahunta Band emerged the winner.

The event also helped to kick-off Polio Awareness Month which takes place in October. March of Dimes celebrates the month to recognize polio survivors living with the virus’ late effects in the form of post-polio syndrome.

A special thank you to our 2013 sponsors, Pennzoil the presenting sponsor, Airgo, Long & McQuade, Pawn Shop Live and media sponsor Classic Rock K-97.

Thank you as well to our bands, judges, emcee and volunteers. Plans are already underway for next year's event!.

Congratulations to the
Rock for Dimes Edmonton 2013 Winner
