Get Ready for Rock for Dimes Edmonton September 21, 2014!
Edmonton’s best amateur bands will take to the stage at the Rock for Dimes battle of the bands fundraiser to shake On The Rocks and raise an estimated $10,000 for Edmonton residents with physical disabilities and local peer support groups. This year's featured bands include Josh Sahunta Band, A Hundred Years, Rob Taylor Project, Stephanie Harpe Experience, Basler, Keylation, True North, Hungry Hollow
and Bad Communicators
. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart
, the spokesperson of March of Dimes Canadas’ Stroke Recovery Canada®
program will make a special guest appearance. The Honourable Naresh Bhardwaj
, Associate Minister - Services for Persons with Disabilities will also be on hand to discuss the importance of disability support in Edmonton.
We are thrilled to have Sheldon Elter
, actor, writer, stand-up comic, musician and director originally from Northern Alberta to emcee the evening.
This year we are also honoured to have as judges Patrick Henri
from CE2B Edmonton CE Program, Krista Hewson
from Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund, and Brennan McFaul
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s
programs and services for children and adults with disabilities.
“We’re really excited to be holding this fundraiser for the second time in Edmonton, which also takes place in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax and a number of cities across Ontario,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications. Rock for Dimes will help us grow our programming and serve more people in Edmonton,” she continues.
