Together with our local stroke survivor support group, Life After Stroke, Peterborough, I am raising funds for March Of Dimes Canada. Every donation, regardless of the amount will assist someone with a disability to live a more meaningful and independent life. During my recovery on the past six years I have been surrounded by loving and patient family and friends. I am forever grateful to them all, however not all survivors have been so blessed.
March of Dimes Canada is the largest rehabilitation organization in Ontario providing a variety of important services to over 50,000 people with disabilities each year. Our service offering is broad, but we are single-minded in our motivation – creating a society inclusive of people with physical disabilities.
With your support, we can improve the lives of stroke survivors with support programs, social and recreation activities and education aimed at preventing a future stroke. And Conductive Education®, a program designed to help people physical disabilities learn to walk, care for themselves and gain independence.
These are just a few of the life-changing programs supported by your donations. With your support I can reach my fundraising goal of $500.00.
