Opening Doors for Children and Adults with Disabilities
In Your Community

Welcome to March of Dimes Canada's 2016-17 Door-to-Door Campaign! The Door-to-Door Campaign raises funds and awareness of March of Dimes Canada's programs and services for children and adults with disabilities in your community.

You are making a difference!
Every year, we serve over 75,000 Canadians with disabilities through a number of programs and services including MODC's Assistive Devices Program, Conductive Education® rehabilitation, Post-Polio Canada, Stroke Recovery Canada, Recreation and Integration Services, Attendant Care and Employment Services. By raising funds through the Door-to-Door Campaign, you help us continue to offer crucial support. Over 90.9% of all dollars raised go directly towards programs and services for people with disabilities.

Assistive Devices Program difference
Eva is a 61 year old female living in a retrofitted apartment in Barrie, Ontario. She has multiple sclerosis, which limits her mobility and requires her to use a power wheelchair to get around and make herself comfortable. Her previous chair was broken beyond repair.

power wheelchair for Eva M.Eva needed a new wheelchair. She applied to both the Ministry of Health's Assistive Devices Program and the MS Society for funding but she still wasn't able to afford the wheelchair. In January 2016, March of Dimes Canada’s Assistive Devices Program was able to help out and fund the remaining amount she needed to purchase this essential piece of equipment.

"This wheelchair will keep me independent and out of long-term care and just having it lifts my spirits says Eva.

Eva is very grateful to March of Dimes Canada’s Assistive Devices Program for the support, and March of Dimes Canada is equally grateful to the donors who make it possible for us to help people in the Barrie area, like Eva.
