March of Dimes Door-to-Door Campaign is the longest running fundraiser of its kind in North America.
For over sixty-five years March of Dimes has depended on the kindness and generosity of Canadians who open their doors, heart and wallets during our annual Door-to-Door Campaign.
This tradition started in 1949 when "Marching Mothers" went door to door to raise money for a polio cure. Thanks to their efforts, a vaccine was found and Canada was the first country to be declared polio-free. Today, March of Dimes Canada offers services to people with all types of physical disabilities.
ur support provides:
Help to over 75,000 Canadians with disabilities
Support for stroke survivors, people with aphasia, post-polio, acquired brain injuries, their loved ones, and caregivers
Rehabilitation programs for stroke survivors and people with neurological motor disorders with our Conductive Education® program
Community integration services including employment services, life skills training, recreational and social opportunities
Personal support services such as attendant services, funding for home safety equipment, vehicle modification, and independent living housing
The 2017-18 campaign will see over 4,000 volunteer canvassers going door-to-door as well as online to help raise money for children and adults living with physical disabilities. This year's canvassing campaign runs from
December 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018
