Funds raised will support the ongoing efforts of March of Dimes Canada.

Proceeds from Rock for Dimes Edmonton will benefit March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education® program, Edmonton Aphasia Camp and Post-Polio Canada programs in Edmonton.

Conductive Education® is a program of March of Dimes Canada that combines physical rehabilitation and education to help children and adults with neurological motor disorders such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, or who have had a stroke or brain injury. Conductive Education® works on the brain to change the body. Participants are taught skills and techniques to help them overcome the challenges of their disability - they learn how to apply these strategies to their everyday life, becoming more independent.

Edmonton Aphasia Camp is made possible through the partnership of March of Dimes Canada and the University of Alberta. It is a weekend-long camp held every September for individuals living with aphasia and their family members. It is held in a rustic outdoor camp away from the hustle and bustle of the city on Lake Wabamun. It provides an opportunity for individuals who are living with aphasia, as well as one of their family members or friends, to enjoy a recreational and therapeutic weekend retreat.

Post-Polio Canada is a March of Dimes Canada program that has been around since 1951 and has worked to eradicate the threat of polio in Canada and provide support services to polio survivors. Post-Polio Canada works with peer support groups nationwide to connect polio survivors. The program also provides resources to caregivers helping those with post-polio syndrome.
